This antique Chinese lamp dates to the Late 19th Century-Early 20th Century. It is exceptional for its bold color and rich floral pattern. The lamp's body is comprised of a brass vase, which is expertly decorated in the cloisonné technique. Stylized flowers, leaves, and architectural motifs cover the surface, rendered in a lush turquoise enamel paint with greens, blues, reds, pinks, and yellows. The vase opens up to an interior metal centerpiece, with a hand-painted, idyllic landscape. At the bottom, the entire vase is mounted into a decorative brass base, which echoes the brass trimmings throughout the lamp.
This lamp has been well-cared for and is newly rewired. Additionally, it is paired with a new parchment shade.
