19th Century Two-Part Camphor Wood Campaign Chest & Secretary Desk

This exceptional campaign chest of drawers was crafted by a Hong Kong-based cabinet maker in the 19th Century. The woodwork is impeccable with the chest constructed in two parts: a lower chest and an upper chest that can be transformed into a secretary desk. There are nine compartments in total. The central compartment folds out into a writing surface with a green leather cover. Surrounding it are three small drawers, one long drawer at the top, and three long drawers below. Each drawer was thoughtfully designed with brass hardware and fluted wood trimming in a dark finish. Four substantial, turned knob feet provide an uplift of four inches.
